11-Jul-07. Online gaming mogul pleads guilty. Calgary Herald, C1.

July 16, 2007

John Lefebvre, an alumnus of the University of Calgary and manager of NETeller PLC’s business operations, has pleaded guilty to U.S. charges relating to illegal gambling proceeds.  The charges stem from violations of the new ban on financial transactions from online gaming.  Because the ban is in such an early stage, friends of Lefebvre feel that the system is making an example of him.  Stephen Lawrence, co-founder of NETeller PLC has also pleaded guilty.
